Il repertorio proposto all’interno di questo CD - inciso nell’intento di celebrare il decimo anniversario della costruzione dell’organo meccanico Mascioni opus 1147 divulgandone la conoscenza - volutamente spazia da brani considerati ai vertici della Letteratura organistica di tutti i tempi per sapienza, complessità e raffinatezza di scrittura - quali la Passacaglia in Do minore e la prima delle sei Sonate in Trio di J.S.Bach – a brani di più facile ascolto e di forte impatto emotivo, prima tra tutti la Toccata e Fuga in Re minore; al tempo stesso, ai numerosi brani di musica bachiana e prebachiana, particolarmente adatti a questo prestigioso strumento di spiccata caratterizzazione barocca, è affiancata la celeberrima Toccata dalla V Sinfonia di C.M. Widor, che – da sola -rende appieno la versatilità timbrica ed espressiva di questo strumento, sorprendentemente adatto anche, talvolta, all’esecuzione di un più vasto repertorio per epoca ed area geografica.
This CD has been recorded on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the construction of Mascioni mechanical organ, opus 1147. The repertoire spans from passages held to be the top of organ compositions of all time for skill,complexity and subtlety of writing – such as the Passacaglia in C minor and the first of the six Sonatas in Trio by J.S. Bach – to pieces which are easier to listen to and which touch the audience’s on an emotional level, first of all, the Toccata and Fugue in D minor. Pieces by Bach and also pre-Bach composers which suit this fine instrument characteristically Baroque are coupled with the highly famous Toccata from the 5th symphony by C.M. Widor. A monumental example of the organ symphonic trend of the end of the XIX century this Toccata fully explores the timbre and expressive potentials of this instrument, which is also incredibly suited to performing a vaster repertoire of pieces from different periods and countries.
Anlass der hier vorliegenden Aufnahmen ist der 10.Geburtstag der mechanischen Orgel Mascioni opus 1147. Das Repertoire spannt willentlich einen Bogen von Meisterwerken der Orgelmusik wie der Passacaglia in c-Moll und der ersten der sechs Triosonaten von J.S. Bach zu eingängigeren und gefühlsbetonten Stücken, vor allem der Toccata e Fuga in d- Moll. Den zahlreichen Bachschen Werken und seiner Vorgänger zu deren Aufführung sich dieses namhafte Instrument in seiner ausgeprägt barocken Eigenart im besonderen anbietet, steht die berühmte Toccata der 5. Symphonie von C.M. Widor zur Seite: eine Tonschöpfung, die allein Klangreichtum und Ausdruckskraft dieser Orgel vollkommen ausschöpft, und veranschaulicht, wie überraschend sich dieses Instrument auch eignet für ein umfangreicheres Repertoire aus verschiedenen Epochen und Kulturen.
